Warm Up

Hop Tag

Each student starts holding one leg and hopping on the other. Once the whistle blows the goal is to hop and push or maneuver someone out of the circle or in a manner in which they let go of their held leg to regain their balance. If you are pushed out of the circle or if you let go of your leg so that both feet hit, you are out.

1) Big Step (INSIDE – if opponent is on left side, step up left side)
2) Clear arm (reach high and across with left hand)
3) Catch Wrist (catch your opponents left wrist with your right hand
4) Rotate to Feet & Back Pressure
5) Two Hands on One
6) LOCK arm out to back pocket & One on one
7) Cut away (cut outside, Rotate to the LEFT Hip)

Goal = Stay in good stance and move feet

Wrestlers face each other in good stance. Purpose is to try to step on partners toes w/out partner stepping on yours.

Wrestlers keep score with how many times they stepped on partners toes.

Go short goes 30s-45s and then pair winners with winners, losers with loser to try to pair with equally skilled

GHOST IN THE GRAVEYARD

Wrestlers on hands and knees on one end of the mat. “Ghost” on hands and knees in the middle of the mat (graveyard).

On the Coaches whistle wrestlers must get from one end of the graveyard, past the “Ghost” to the other end of the graveyard.

The goal of the Ghost is to catch a wrestler and Tight Waist Chop Breakdown him / her, after which time he/she becomes an additional ghost.

Last wrestler to get turned into a Ghost wins.

GOAL = Wrestlers stays in a good stance the entire period
NOTE = After sprawl, verbal cues to CIRCLE back to feet, not just stand up.
1) Have wrestlers get in a good stance
2) On the whistle they move (MOTION) in their stance
3) Every five to ten seconds yell “shot” or “sprawl” and the wrestlers does the attack step/ sprawl, back to good stance
