Friends of wrestling came together on Monday for an evening of networking and conversation with David Pottruck, A UPenn wrestling alumnus and former CEO of Charles Schwab; Pottruck currently serves as the chairman of HighTower Advisors.
Beat the Streets Wrestling is excited to announce that David Pottruck will be kicking off the 2014- 2015 speaker series, which is scheduled to take place on October 27th. A native of Long Island, NY, Pottrock’s high school athletic career would eventually lead him to the University of Pennsylvania, where he wrestled. While at UPenn, he earned three letters in Football and Wrestling. Pottruck finished his junior year with an overall mark of 7-0-1 and All Ivy League honors. He also placed second at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships (EIWA) at 190 pounds. He served as co-captain in 1970, the final season of legendary coach Donald Frey’s tenure at Penn. He went on to pursue his MBA at Wharton and served as Penn’s wrestling’s freshman coach during those years.
