Beat The Streets - New York City Wrestling

Over the next few weeks, BTS will provide previews for PSAL High School and BTS Junior League wrestling teams in the city. We start with the Baruch Blue Devils.

  • 2011-2012 State, City, and Mayor's Cup placewinners: 4 City Champions in 2011-12; 2 Mayor's Cup placewinners.
  • Top returning starters with accomplishments: Isaiah Blake - defending City Champion, Goddard Champion, Kings Park Champion. Paul Schoenberg 2x City Champion.
  • Top incoming wrestlers: Matthew Quinones wrestled 3 years at Baruch MS and was their team captain. 2x State MS Representative. Youngest graduate of J Rob camp from NYC. Part of BTS Italy Program. 
  • Season outlook: On February 10th, Baruch Wrestling will win the PSAL D2 Team Title.

BTS would like to thank Head Coach Frank Portella for giving us some insight on Baruch's team this season.  The Blue Devils finished 3rd in the Small School City Championships last year and will look to climb the standings as they did in 2010 when the won the City Championship.
