Beat the Streets Wrestling is pleased to announce that our first-ever app, BTSNY, is free for download in the Apple App Store. The app is a great way to get up-to-date news about BTS sent straight to your iPhone.
The app is designed for both iPhone and iPad and has features that everyone looking to be involved with NYC wrestling can find handy. It features recent BTS news, a convenient link to our schedule, alerts and push notifications, on-the-go donations, mobile event registration, social media tools, and a fun poster creator with stickers to show your support for BTS. We’ll be keeping it up to date with the latest news and facts about NYC wrestling.
The app was created by developer Conor Sweeney with graphics by Emily Ray.
Sweeney, who wrestled at Columbia University, said that his interest in sports comes from the impact it had on his family. Sweeney’s grandfather Larry played basketball and earned a full scholarship to become the first member of his family to attend college. “By teaching kids wrestling, BTS is giving a new generation of Larry Sweeneys the same opportunity.”
“At Beat The Streets, we’re always looking for the most effective and efficient ways to communicate with our audience as well as all of our coaches, kids, and their parents,” said Executive Director Brendan Buckley. “Given the fact that we use our phones to get information around the clock, the idea of the BTSNY app was a no-brainer. Connor approached us about the idea of an intuitive and attractive app and came up with one that that we trust will grow our audience and easily present the same information we host on our website to be used on any iPhone."“I know from my personal experience that wrestling teaches everyone intangible values that will benefit them the rest of their life,” Sweeney said. “I’m hoping the BTSNY app will help with community outreach and get more people involved.”
As a reminder, the app is completely free and available today. Search the Apple App Store on your phone for “BTSNY” or follow this link.
