New York City – The 2017 PSAL Girls Wrestling Championships will kick off with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, May 9th

Truman, who finished 2nd in 2016, enters the playoffs as the top seeded team and will host the #8 seed Fashion Industries. Finishing second in the Island Division (Staten Island / Manhattan), it’s the first time in school history that Fashion has qualified for the wrestling playoffs. Wingate High School dominated the Brooklyn Division and enters the tournament as the #2 seed and will host #7 W.C. Bryant.  Brooklyn Tech, the 2016 Champions, enters the tournament as the #3 seed and will host #6 Francis Lewis. Curtis High School, long the dominant girls team in the city enters as the #4 seed and will host #5 A.P. Randolph who is also making their school’s first post-season wrestling tournament appearance. All quarterfinal matches are scheduled to start at 5:00pm.

The semifinal round is scheduled for 5:00pm on Thursday, May 11th. The Championship Finals are scheduled for 4:15pm on Wednesday, May 17th and will be conducted in Time Square as part of the 2017 Beat The Streets Benefit. The Girls Championship dual will take place in Duffy Square and precede a match between the United States and Japan. Click HERE for the results and brackets.
