Beat The Streets - New York City Wrestling

As the school year begins, we want to remind all BTSNY wrestlers that Neighborhood Training Centers are open for the 2017-2018 year. The centers are Eagle Academy in the Bronx, Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, Grand Street Campus in Brooklyn, Clement C. Moore (P.S. 13) in Queens, Michael J. Petrides High School in Staten Island, and Tottenville High School in Staten Island. Taking advantage of training center practices and 

Each center will have a coach dedicated to growing the borough to its full potentialDavid Obeisie (Bronx), Dmitriy Landa (Brooklyn), Adeshola Logunleko (Queens), and Dionisos Georgiou (Staten Island). Penn Gottfried, BTS Junior League Director, will be coaching at Grand Street Campus and Poly Prep. Grand Street Campus will act as the Central Training Center for BTSNY this year. 

Additionally, BTS will offer SAT preparation in order to help student-athletes achieve their off-the-mat goals. Classes will be offered in four cycles, leading up to four separate test dates. The details regarding dates and sites can be found below. Student-athletes will be provided a quiet environment and all necessary prep materials. They will also be supervised by a professional trained to guide them through SAT prep lessons. We encourage all BTSNY youth, especially our high school juniors and seniors, to take advantage of this opportunity. Please note that classes located at "Beat the Streets" will be located at the main office (252 W 37th Street, Suite 400, New York, NY, 10018).

Members wishing to obtain a summer scholarship to Fargo, Summer Camp, or the Summer Tour must do the following: 1) Attend 10 practices in 2017 and 10 practices in 2018 or attend 30 total practices for the year; 2) Attend 10 hours in any one SAT preparation cycle. Please refer to the Summer Scholarship Requirement flyer. 

SAT preparation will be one component of Enrichment this year—BTS will also be conducting college visits and college workshops this year. Visits will take place on DOE holidays and consist of a campus tour and a wrestling practice session. BTS will provide transportation and lunch.
