Beat The Streets - New York City Wrestling

On Wednesday, June 8, United Parcel Service (UPS) will be holding a career fair in partnership with Beat the Streets at 6 PM at the UPS 43rd Street Facility in Manhattan. UPS, a Fortune 500 company that has existed for 109 years, seeks to add to its current level of support for BTS by offering  by offering career opportunities directly to students, coaches, and parents.

“We feel that UPS looks for the same great qualities in our employees that BTS develops in their kids: toughness, work ethic, positive attitude and grit,” said Kevin Beinhacker, a manager with UPS. “We feel that UPS and BTS can have a very productive partnership, and we want to provide a great living for the wrestling community.”

UPS is offering a wide array of jobs, ranging from part-time work for students to make extra money to long-term career opportunities. Beinhacker is interested in promoting opportunities to work for UPS not only to students, but also to coaches and parents. “We expect that as a result of the job fair we can have dozens of quality BTS members join the UPS workforce,” he said. Additionally, the company offers educational scholarships for both full- and part-time employees.

The job fair will start off with a brief overview of UPS, highlighting all of their locations throughout the New York area. “We will show the audience that we are much more than a trucking company,” Bienhacker said, wanting to emphasize the possible positions ranging from auto mechanics to finance jobs and everything in between. The job fair will also explain the education assistance program and benefits packages. There will be managers from several departments in attendance who will discuss specific job opportunities in their areas. After these brief formal presentations, there will be an informal atmosphere and a question and answer session.

Bienhacker encourages students to bring their parents. Coaches are also invited so that they can better understand what UPS offers to their employees.

Bienhacker is a member of the BTS Leadership Council, and Ray Barczak, a member of the BTS Board of Trustees, is Vice President of Transportation with UPS.

The Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, June 8 from 6 - 8 PM at the UPS Facility at 643 West 43rd Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY, 10036. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Come out to learn about these exciting opportunities!
