Brendan Buckley
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Brendan Buckley is the Executive Director of Beat the Streets. He comes to BTS following 19 years working within NCAA DI wrestling, where he served as head coach at both Cal Poly and Columbia University. Under Buckley's leadership, the 2019 BTS Annual Benefit raised a record $1.3 million, selling out the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
Brandon Cain
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS, MARKETING AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Brandon Cain is the Director of Communications, Marketing and Special Events for Beat the Streets. Prior to BTS, Cain served as an independent correspondent for NHL.com, covering the Chicago Blackhawks. He has also served as a sports and news copy editor at newspaper publications in Illinois, Texas and Wyoming. Originally from Illinois, Cain is a Quincy University alumnus.
Lenny Merkin
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Lenny Merkin is the Program Coordinator for Beat the Streets. Merkin is a 2016 BTS alumnus and Princeton University graduate. The 2019 U23 World team member currently competes for New York Athletic Club at 67 kilograms in Greco-Roman wrestling. He was a four-time New York prep state champion for Brooklyn Poly Prep, placed in the top three twice at Prep Nationals and earned All-American honors at junior nationals.
John Rollins
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
& OPERATIONS
John Rollins is the Senior Director of Finance and Operations at Beat the Streets. Prior to BTS, Rollins served as the first Chief Financial Officer at ECAC Network. Rollins has also served in senior roles with ESPN, the National Football League and the Athletic Department at the University of Hartford. He is a graduate of Fordham University, where he was a captain of the men's soccer team.
Joe DeAngelo
HEAD COACH
Joe DeAngelo is the Head Coach at Beat the Streets. DeAngelo spent the past five years at Army West Point as an associate and assistant head coach. Prior to Army West Point, DeAngelo spent a season as a volunteer assistant at Clarion and Hofstra. As a student-athlete, DeAngelo was a two-time NCAA qualifier at North Carolina State and NJCAA All-American at Nassau Community College.
Bob Seidel
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING
Bob Seidel is the Director of Programming for Beat the Streets. Seidel comes to BTS with more than
15 years of coaching and teaching experience. He was a 2003 NCAA qualifier, ACC champion and ACC Outstanding Male Scholar for the University of Virginia. He also was a three-time New Jersey high school state place-winner.
Jon Alicea
JUNIOR LEAGUE MANAGER
Jon Alicea is the Junior League Manager for Beat the Streets. Alicea is a BTS alumnus and SUNY Brockport graduate. The New York City native was a wrestling team captain and two-time all-city wrestler for MLK Campus in Manhattan. He also is a teacher at Cornerstone Academy for Social Action.
