11 Beat the Streets Academy wrestlers win titles at PSAL Championships

Alessandra Elliott, Carlos Guzman and Isaias Torres each named Outstanding Wrestler in their division.

Eleven Beat the Streets Academy wrestlers won PSAL Championships and 28 total placed in their respective divisions this past week.

Beat the Streets Academy wrestlers had the most champions in Division 2 with six. Cameron Mayfield, Vakramogo Dosso, Mitchell Barcus and Christian Solano (all of Eagle Academy) and Carlos Guzman of Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy all claimed the top spot on the podium. BTS also had four finalists and one third-place finishers for 11 place-winners total.

Four BTS wrestlers claimed titles in the Girls Division and Isaias Torres captured the crown in Division 1. Destiny Gibson (RKA), Alessandra Elliott (Tottenville), Angelina Caban (Bathgate) and Rebecca Silber (Brooklyn Tech) took home gold. BTS had five other place-winners with two in second and third and one in sixth place.

Isaias Torres (Grand Street Campus) captured BTS' lone title in Division 1. Seven others found the podium: two in second and fourth, one in sixth and two in eighth.

Elliott, Guzman and Torres were each named the outstanding wrestler, as voted on by coaches, for their respective divisions.
