Beat the Streets Academy's Isabella Lorenzana takes 3rd place at 2024 Folkstyle Nationals

Lorenzana had two falls in the consolation round to claim bronze.

Beat the Streets Academy student-athlete Isabella Lorenzana took third place at the Air Force Special Warfare 16U Folkstyle Nationals on Sunday at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.


Lorenzana dropped her opening match then displayed resilience and determination by earning two victories to take third place. In her next match, she needed only 57 seconds to secure a fall to advance to the third-place bout. The Francis Lewis High School sophomore from Queens then posted a fall in 1:35 to claim bronze.


It is a significant accomplishment for Lorenzana to earn third place in this tournament, which is the first leg of USA Wrestling's coveted Triple Crown series for high school student-athletes.
