Beat the Streets alumni to compete in 2024-25 college wrestling season
Twenty-plus alumni are continuing their wrestling careers in college.
Beat the Streets will be well represented by 20-plus alumni during the 2024-25 college wrestling season.
Returning national qualifier Alessandra Elliott of D'Youville University leads the BTS group of seven women. Ariel Ofri-Akman (East Stroudsburg University) and Angelina Caban (Elmira College) return for their sophomore and junior seasons, respectively. Isabella Burmaster, Emily Nunez and Lanxi Xu (East Stroudsburg), and Gabrielle Heffez (Sacred Heart University) will begin their college careers.
At the Division 1 level, Sulayman Bah (Columbia) returns as a sophomore. Four freshmen join the Division 1 ranks: Timur Berksultan (Binghamton), Amir Avazov (Long Island), Xavier Giles (Princeton) and Denzel Perez (Pennsylvania).
Ten BTS alums will compete in Division 3, led by junior returning All-American Isaias Torres. Fellow juniors Francisco Muriel and Aslan Sharipov and freshman Christian Cruz join him at Ithaca. Hunter College also boasts four BTS alums with sophomores Botensky Bauzile, Nicholas D'Erasmo and Michael Douglas, and freshman Abdulrahman Khaldi.

Since being founded in 2005, Beat the Streets has pioneered a movement that now includes 150 individual wrestling programs, a youth league and the first girls high school league.
