Beat the Streets alumnus Demitreus Henry takes 8th place at NCAA Division III Championships

Beat the Streets alumnus Demitreus Henry took eighth place at 174 pounds to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday at Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Henry, the No. 7 seed, finished the tournament 3-3 to end his senior season with a 32-5 record to cap his collegiate career at Cortland with an 81-20 mark.
He went 3-1 on Friday, including two wins by decision and one by fall. On Saturday, the two-time NCAA qualifier fell 5-3 in sudden victory and 7-4.
A 2018 graduate of Grand Street Campus, Henry was a three-time city champion, sectional champion and placed third at the state tournament.
Fellow Beat the Streets alumni J.C. Cardenas (133) and Brian Torres (184), both of Cortland, and Terry Adams of Ursinus (125) each went 0-2 in their first NCAA DIII Championships appearance. Cardenas and Torres each wrestled at Grand Street Campus, while Adams is from Monsignor Farrell.
