Beat the Streets New York sends 12 student-athletes to USA Wrestling National Championships
Alessandra Elliott, a national champion and two-time All-American, leads the group.
Beat the Streets New York will be represented by 12 student-athletes at the 2023 U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16U National Championships from July 15-22 at the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota.
Alessandra Elliott, a 2021 16U national champion and 2022 Junior All-American in girls freestyle, leads the group. The D'Youville University signee will be joined by BTSNY's Isabella Lorenzana in girls freestyle.
Nine male student-athletes will represent BTSNY, including Eric Bocanegra, Devone Bogie, Xavier Giles and Oumar Tounkara who will compete in freestyle and Greco-Roman. Bocanegra will compete in the 16U division. Bogie, Giles and Tounkara will be in the junior division.
In freestyle, Firdavs Ahmadzoda and Kimoni Giles will wrestle in the 16U division, while Sulayman Bah and Amir Avazov take to the mats in the junior division. In Greco-Roman, Bilali Assounmanou will wrestle in the 16U division, and Cristian Cruz will be in action in the junior division.
