Beat the Streets student-athletes test their skills at 2024 Journeymen Fall Classic

Fourteen Beat the Streets competed in the Journeymen Fall Classic tournament this past weekend in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
Christopher Edel led the way for BTS with a fourth-place finish at 130 pounds. Edel recorded two wins by decision before falling in the semifinal round. He bounced back with a fall to stay alive in the tournament then fell in the third-place bout to take fourth.
Erick Largo also had three wins - all by fall - and Mathew Murillo had two falls. Bilali Assoumanou and Max Belousov each had one fall and Sellase Sunu scored a victory by major decision.
BTS Junior League alumnus Jonathan Ledee also took fourth place with two decisions, one tech fall and one major decision at 140. Ledee attends Fordham Prep in The Bronx.
Marielys Lugo and Carolina Lockard paced the BTS girls with two victories each in the girls tournament, which featured international competition. Lockard had two falls, and Lugo had one technical fall and one forfeit. Nicole Kremyanksiy also had one fall.
