Randall, Olalde Part Ways With BTS

Beat the Streets says goodbye to two longtime staff members

Beat the Streets is saying goodbye to two staff members, with Fund Development Coordinator Mariana Olalde having left mid-April and Director of Programming Emma Randall set to leave at the end of June.

Olalde, a BTS alumni who graduated in 2013, has been a longtime employee of 9 years at BTS. Originally having started out as a BTS student-athlete, Olalde took up an intern position and eventually transitioned into being a full-time employee.

“Her professional development over these past few years has been immense and she played a large role in our annual fundraising efforts,” said Brendan Buckley, Executive Director at BTS.

Since parting ways with BTS, Olalde has joined Shannon Smith, former BTS Director of Finance & Operations, at the Roosevelt Institute in the HR department.

Randall, who joined BTS in 2018 coming off the position of Assistant Women’s National Coach at USA Wrestling, will be leaving BTS to head the New York City Regional Training Center’s new women’s wrestling program. Since being at BTS, Randall has been critical in the development of the Academy program.

“Her time with all our student-athletes and coaches elevated the quality of wrestling in New York City, as well as strengthened our Academy program model,” said Buckley. “We are grateful she will remain in New York and we look forward to working closely with her and the New York City Regional Training Center.”

As Olalde and Randall proceed on to new opportunities, BTS would like to extend a final thank you for their invaluable contributions to the organization.

“We are very grateful for the time that Mariana and Emma spent with BTS, as they demonstrated an enormous commitment to our student-athletes and BTS at large,” said Buckley. “On behalf of everyone at BTS, we wish Mariana and Emma the absolute best with their future professional development.”
