Three BTS Alumni All-American at NCWWC Nationals, Henry Makes History
Nia Crosdale, Sophia Mirabella, Naomi Henry place at NCWWC Women's Nationals
Three Beat the Streets alumni—Nia Crosdale, Sophia Mirabella, and Naomi Henry—earned All-American status at the Cliff Keen National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) this past weekend.
Crosdale and Mirabella, both of King University, placed fourth in their respective weight classes of 170 and 116. Henry, of New Jersey City University, placed seventh at 130.
By earning All-American status, Henry also made NJCU women's wrestling history by becoming one of the first two All-Americans in program history.
According to BTS coach Barry Hart, who also works as an NJCU assistant coach, the success of Henry, Crosdale, and Mirabella is exciting for BTS as a program.
"It feels good to be a part of Naomi's journey and watch her grow as an athlete and person," said Hart. "It’s exciting to see our Alumni continue to have success on the college level and accomplish their goals. I am very proud of their hard work and dedication."
