Megan Olivi joins Beat the Streets Board of Directors
Olivi serves as the lead reporter for the UFC, and sideline and feature reporter for the NFL on Fox.
Beat the Streets Wrestling, Inc. Is proud to announce Megan Olivi as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
Olivi serves as the leader reporter for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). During broadcasts, Olivi provides live reporting, conducts interviews and hosts from the desk. As the sole female presence on the UFC’s prestigious pay-per-view broadcasts, Olivi has become synonymous with exceptional storytelling and insightful interviews. Her feature conservations are regarded as appointment viewing. She also serves as a sideline and feature reporter during football season for the NFL on Fox.
Olivi volunteered at many wrestling tournaments throughout her middle school and high school years, as well as volunteered for Beat the Streets while in graduate school.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Seton Hall University and a master’s degree in public communication from Fordham University. Raised on the East Coast, she now calls Las Vegas home with her husband, retired UFC flyweight Joseph Benavidez, and their dog, Benny.
"I am truly honored to join the Board of such an incredible organization,” Olivi said. “The impact Beat the Streets is making on the lives of New York City’s youth through the sport of wrestling is inspiring. As someone who has seen the positive influence of the sport firsthand, I know how important it is to continue their efforts. I greatly look forward to working alongside this dedicated team and contributing to the continued success of their life-changing work.”
The BTS Board of Directors is dedicated to supporting the organization’s operations and programs, which provide opportunities – on and off the wrestling mat – for urban youth across New York City’s five boroughs.
Since being founded in 2005, Beat the Streets has pioneered a movement that now includes 150 individual wrestling programs, a youth league and the first girls high school league.
BTS works to develop the full human and athletic potential of New York City urban youth and strengthen the city's wrestling culture. We aim to make a lifelong impact on student-athletes through the lessons learned on the wrestling mat -- discipline, perseverance, self-reliance, humility and a strong work ethic.
