USA Wrestling assigns weight classes for Final X New York, Beat the Streets' 2022 Annual Benefit
Seven Senior World or Olympic medalist from 2021 are eligible to advance directly to Final X New York, if they compete in the same weight class at Final X.
USA Wrestling has assigned the specific weight classes for Final X New York on Wednesday, June 8, at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Final X series will determine the 2022 U.S. Senior World Teams in all three Olympic disciplines: men’s and women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman. There will be two Final X events this year, presented by Tezos, Final X Stillwater on Friday, June 3 at Gallagher-Iba Arena on the Oklahoma State campus and one in New York City. FloWrestling will serve as the host broadcasting partner for both Final X events.
There will be 15 weight classes contested in each Final X event, five in each discipline. The top two U.S. athletes in the nation in these weight classes will compete in a best-of-three series to determine who will wrestle at the 2022 Senior World Championships from Sept. 10-18 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Beat the Streets New York Annual Benefit
The Annual Benefit is much more than a fundraiser. It is a time to celebrate Beat the Streets student-athletes and an opportunity to thank our coaches, supporters and partners whose commitment to our mission has helped change the trajectory of more than 2,500 student-athletes.
To donate, buy a Benefit ticket (with access to both Final X New York sessions and the after party) or purchase a sponsorship package to the event, contact Beat the Streets Fund Development Manager Kerry Doyle at kdoyle.org. Tickets to each Final X New York session without access to the Benefit celebration will be available on TicketMaster in approximately one week.
Final X procedures
There are currently no wrestlers assigned to these weight classes. However, 15 athletes who won a Senior World medal or Olympic medal in 2021 are eligible to advance directly to Final X, if they compete in the same weight class in Final X. They must declare that they will compete at that weight class and accept their direct qualification for Final X by May 4. USA Wrestling will announce when athletes accept their Final X position.
Once the athletes have either accepted or refused their direct advancement to Final X, the rest of the field will be determined at the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Coralville, Iowa, May 20-22.
In weight classes where an athlete has advanced directly to Final X, the champion from the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament will earn a spot into Final X.
In weight classes in which no athlete earned an automatic berth in Final X, the winners of the semifinals at the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament both advance to Final X.
World Team Trials Challenge Tournament qualifiers are determined based upon the approved World Team Trials Procedures for each of the Olympic disciplines, which are posted in the National Teams section of USA Wrestling’s website.
